You’re Probably Wondering…Why 58?

Those are our digits, our identifier, our number.

Alabama has long identified each county with a number as the lead figure on numerical license plates (we call tags). Throughout the state, for those who know this “county code,” 58 is synonymous with Shelby County in Alabama.

We are working hard so when you see a 58 tag, it brings to mind:

  • Natural beauty and premier recreation

  • World-class executive to suburban to rural lifestyles

  • Positive, smart growth and development

  • Visionary economic development strategy

  • Creative and collaborative people

  • Leaders focused on improving the lives of our residents

And our ultimate goal?
For you to have a 58 tag too!
